Originally the residence of a sea Captain, this neo-classical mansion is a true sample of the luxury and culture that ship owners brought to the island in the 19th century. La Maltese stands at the top of the village of Imerovigli, approximately 3km from Fira. Spectacular views of the village as well as of the cliff-edge along the caldera will be yours to cherish throughout your stay and if you are overwhelmed by the beauty of it all by day, the setting becomes even more magical at sunset (as illustrated below). Offering nine very elegantly dressed rooms, the overall decor is grand and the service is truly personal and aims to fulfil any requests you may have from wanting a private butler to taking a sailing trip or enjoying a private excursion. If you can tear yourself away from the ever-so-comfy sunbeds, Kamari beach and Monolythos beach are, respectively, 10 and 7km away.
